Michigan Tri-Share Child Care

Three entities share the costs of your child's care: You, your employer and the State of Michigan.  When your employer participates in Tri-Share and you qualify, your child care costs are reduced by 66%.

Any licensed child care provider can be used to provide care for any child age 0-12 with MI Tri-Share.  This includes, but is not limited to preschool, child care homes and centers, before and after school care, and summer programs.

Payment for child care is made directly to your provider through your Tri-Share hub, Vibrant Futures.  Your employer will deduct your 1/3 of child care costs from your earnings to make this payment for you.

Employees: Fill out an intake form at https://tinyurl.com/3hce28ph to connect to Tri-Share.  If your employer is participating, you can enter information about your family and your child care situation.

Once you apply through Vibrant Futures, your information will be processed to determine your eligibility.  You will be contacted to discuss next steps and we will continue to partner with you through this process.

Don't have a child care provider.  You've got help.  Participating in Tri-Share gives you access to a network of child care providers.  We will assist you to find a licensed child care to fit your needs.

Eligible employers must be in Kent County.  There is no residency requirement for employees or child care providers.  Employee eligibility is determined based on the employee's family size and household income.  Employees must have a household income between 200 - 325% of the Federal Poverty Level.  A participating employee cannot be eligible for the Child Development and Care Program through the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.
